Doubles Primer – Level Up to Twin-Tank Confidence
Have you been diving on a single cylinder and wondered what comes next? The Doubles Primer at Scuba Adventures Plano is your gateway to a twin-tank configuration — more breathing gas, more options, and greater confidence underwater.

Why Take It?
This one-day primer course introduces you to diving with double tanks, teaching you how to move beyond standard single-tank setups into greater capability in a safe, structured way. According to the GUE description: “Venturing into more advanced underwater environments is very often related to longer times and greater depths. … The Doubles Primer is designed to teach divers how to safely and comfortably dive a double tank configuration using proper equipment and techniques.” GUE+1

Who Should Sign Up?
This class is great for divers who:

Are 16 years or older.

Are certified as an autonomous entry-level scuba diver (or equivalent) from a recognized agency. 

Are physically and mentally fit, non-smokers, and able to swim.

Want to make the transition from single-tank to doubles — it’s especially recommended for those without previous doubles experience.

What You’ll Learn
Over the course of approximately one day (minimum eight hours of instruction) including classroom, land drills and at least two in-water dives: 

Proper double?tank equipment: manifolded twin tanks, banding, regulator setups, hose routing. 

Buoyancy, trim, propulsion and control while using doubles—refining your technique for more advanced dives. 

Basic valve management, gas analysis and labeling, and situational awareness in a twin?tank configuration. 

Familiarity with the GUE equipment configuration and protocols for this style of diving.

Duration: 1 day, with classroom/land drills + in-water dives. 

Location: Scuba Adventures Plano dive centre & local dive site/pool (to be confirmed).

Prerequisites: Minimum age 16, certified diver, able to swim, medically fit.

Equipment: You bring your standard scuba gear; we’ll support the twin-tank setup. Rentals available if needed.

Bonus
Completing this primer opens the door to deeper, longer, more capable diving. It’s an excellent stepping stone toward more advanced GUE courses or technical diving tracks — while staying within a comfortable recreational diving framework.
